While its production bothers me, I noticed something interesting. Almost all of the songs on the album have strong melody.
Prince's music, while always full of hooks, is mostly based on the grooves of the songs.
We mostly remember Prince music by the great grooves he produces, melody is in the second plan.
But on Emancipation melody is everywhere - even his guitar solos are very melodic.
