My favourite Van Hunt album. So many great tracks, it's hard to pick a favourite.
I really felt for Van when Blue Note withdrew the commercial release of Popular. Such a shitty move, to fund the recording of an album and then drop the artist before they've even released the record. Maybe it wasn't "safe" enough for them, I guess they prefer MOR artists like Snorah Jones on their roster.

I think this album solidified VH's place as a cult artist, after a promising debut and a brilliant sophomore effort. The fact that it never enjoyed a proper release only strengthens his position as a cult artist.
